Deck Building Workshop

$790.00

This immersive four-day course is designed for people who want to learn the practical skills, tools, and techniques required to build a timber deck.

Combining workshop-based learning with hands-on site experience, you'll work as part of a small team to construct a real deck for a real client. Throughout the course, you'll move between discussions of design, structural principles, construction methods, tool use, safety, and the practical application of those skills on site.

You'll learn every stage of the deck-building process, from setting out and preparing footings, mixing and placing concrete, and constructing the frame, through to laying decking boards and all of the finishing touches.

Along the way, you'll develop an understanding of the fundamental structural principles that underpin safe, durable deck construction, while gaining hands-on experience with a wide range of essential carpentry tools, including drills and drivers, spirit levels, circular saws, drop saws, routers, and more.

With a maximum class size of just four participants, there is plenty of opportunity for one-on-one instruction, personalised guidance, and shared learning alongside others.

No previous experience is required.
